2 and 3 Year Old Class/3 and 4 Year Old Class

These classes are for our youngest learners! At age 2 1/2 and fully potty-trained a child may enroll in Wee Care. These early preschool classes help establish routines and social interactions, while introducing basic circle time concepts like weather, music, and the alphabet and numbers.

Pre-K is our 4 and 5 year old classroom, designed specifically to prepare next year’s Kindergarteners for school success. Our degreed teachers follow Creative Curriculum and lay the foundation for the socioemotional skills needed for academic readiness.

Pre-K Language Enrichment

Created as a way to better prepare children for school, this unique program gives our 4- & 5-year-old children small group time with a teacher to practice pre-reading and speech development skills. The teacher is able to observe children closely and assess individual strengths and weaknesses in these areas.

School-Aged:  The High Five Club

High Five Club students are kindergarten- through third-graders who come to Wee Care before and after school. During their time at the Center, they engage in science, art, and computer activities and have time for homework and free choice play. Activities and field trips are also planned during school breaks and most other days when school is not in session.

Wee Care’s curriculum follows a theme-based approach and is guided by the Creative Curriculum program. We integrate the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning Content Standards into our instruction. Our curriculum is enhanced through Pre-K Language Enrichment, weekly Spanish lessons, community speakers, community story time and a Friday Fitness program. Each theme is determined by the children’s interest and reflected through the following interest areas: music & movement, library, cooking, computers, sand & water, discovery, art, blocks, dramatic play, and toys & games.

All classes are taught by a teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education. The teachers plan and implement their daily lessons to meet the needs of children with auditory, visual and hands on learning styles.

The children’s daily schedule is flexible enough to provide adaptability when necessary, but structured enough to provide predictability for the children. We want them to view their school as a safe and comforting place, where they know what to expect, and when to expect it. Each class begins each morning with a Group Meeting where children gather together on the carpet and discuss the day’s activities and expectations. Another Group Meeting is planned later in the day for preschool to review what they learned that morning.
